CONGRATULATIONS and WELCOME ABOARD to our four newly appointed Level 1 Umpires from this year’s training sessions; Denise Te Momo, Toni Roberts-Hislop, Clark Ambury, James Riley, all from Te Awamutu Club. Chris Richter-Visser from Hillcrest has done his Measuring Exam and is awaiting to do his theory papers. A fantastic achievement by you all.

CONGRATULATIONS also go to Peter McGirr from Frankton Railway/Claudelands clubs, in attaining his Level 2 status. Along with Cambell Snook from Rewa Club, and Barrie Hooper, Claudelands Club, on achieving their four yearly re-accreditation of Level 2 status. Wonderful for you all. Thanks for your contribution to our Sport of Bowls.

After 10 weeks of dedicated tuition from our Head Tutors, Margo and Brian Watson from Te Kuiti and assisted by Ian Bardsley from Claudelands, these candidates were put through their paces by Bowls New Zealand Examiners Helen Stallard, Joy Baughan and Pauline Murdoch and were assisted by our Level 2 Umpires, Barrie Hooper and Cambell Snook. Thank you for all your help.

Covid-19 put paid to our original plans, so after a six-week break, we ran a refresher day for our candidates and they all came through successfully. A real credit to you all. We will be running another training session next June/July period, so watch out for notices as they come through in the off-season time.

Meantime, we will be hosted by Te Awamutu Club on Thursday 5th November at 1pm, and also at Beerescourt on Tuesday 17th November at 2pm, for discussion days for all players to attend as ask whatever they need to know about playing our wonderful game of Bowls.
