Congratulations to Rex McGill of Te Awamutu Bowling Club

Rex McGill has been involved in coaching at Centre level since 2012, when he assisted with coaching the Junior Men’s team.  He was a member of the High-Performance committee for several years. As a member of the representative Management team his vision and insight for the betterment of bowls has been significant. During his time as senior coach of the Yr 1-5 Women’s team Rex has shown an ability to recognise the potential in new bowlers. His careful analysis of the game and building confidence amongst players was only matched by his willingness to travel across the Waikato to assist with player development. His encouragement of players and faith in them culminated in the Yr 1-5 Women playing a major part towards Waikato winning the Geddes Trophy in 2021. 

Rex McGill is a deserving winner of the Coach of the Year.
